Entry One

03 January, 2025

I have jumped around between writing platforms for some time now. When I was younger, I recall making a Blog--I think it was Blogspot--at the recommendation of an old teacher. Nobody ever really read it--by that point the blogging ecosystem was more or less dead. Being a youngster back then, I was most interested in some kind of attention or feedback. Why write if nobody is going to read it? It was a hard ask to get your friends in real life to sign up to your mailing list. Some time later, I created a Tumblr and mucked about a bit, posting my photography, and hoping people would develop a parasocial relationship with me. I'm not dissatisfied with that, but I've grown away from Tumblr.

I have decided I cannot expect anybody to read or look at anything I make, I think I should treat that as a freeing thing, rather than a desire. After all, who is going to be clicking "random" on Neocities in the Year of Our Lord, 2025? I hope to use this webpage as something a bit more serious than a Twitter account.

And, if you cannot tell already, I am going to prioritize creating something... anything in favor of it looking good, at least in the beginning. I would like to put more effort into making art, writing, photography, or any other creative product than dithering over the finer details.
